This unique map of modern-day Spain and Portugal, the two nations of the Iberian Peninsula, is a digitally rendered design inspired by antique map prints.
It displays the present-day autonomous communities, districts and provinces of each country, including the Canary Islands (part of Spain) and Madeira (part of Portugal) which appear inset at the bottom right and left corners respectively. The shaded relief of the mountain ranges, colour scheme, vignetted shading of the seas and use of type throughout are all inspired by examples of antique maps.
The design is finished with a simple, elegant border and title with scale bar.
All names on the map are written in their English exonyms, with alternative names in regional languages written below or alongside in parentheses, e.g. Alicante (Alacant).
