This unique map of London, UK is a digitally rendered design, inspired by the elegant visual style, coloration and typography of early twentieth-century city maps.
Major streets and thoroughfares, railway termini, tube stations, landmarks, street markets, parks, gardens, lakes and bridges are all carefully delineated and labelled. The courses of all the various underground railways are depicted by dashed black lines.
The design is finished with a simple, elegant border and title, with a symbol key and scale bar along the bottom edge.
It covers a large area of the city between King's Cross in the north, Whitechapel in the east, Vauxhall in the south and Kensington Gardens in the west; it displays the city, its neighbourhoods, parks and famous landmarks as they appear in the present day (2018), hence the inclusion of modern landmarks such as the London Eye, the Southbank Centre, Tate Modern, the Barbican Centre and modern skyscrapers such as the Shard and the Gherkin. Recent developments such as St. Pancras International Station, the London Overground line through Shoreditch, and the newly extended Serpentine Gallery in Hyde Park also feature, while more historic landmarks such as the Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral and the Houses of Parliament also feature prominently.
