This is an original illustrated map of Southwark, a borough of London, UK, inspired by decorative antique map prints and entirely hand-drawn and digitally coloured.
Its decoration scheme references the area's rich diversity, culture and history. The coat of arms at the right of the image is the official arms of the borough. The other shields at the left of the image represent the Church of England and Roman Catholic dioceses of Southwark, whilst those on the right represent the ancient Bermondsey Abbey (demolished in the 16th Century) and the parish of St. Giles in Camberwell. The illustration at bottom right shows a view of the Shard, the tallest building in the United Kingdom at 308 metres.
